Our teachers know their students and work with them to help them realise their potential as learners. Our focus on authentic learning and authentic assessment ensures that we challenge our students to grow in their learning and achieve their personal best.

Throughout our community of Sydney Catholic schools, we have shown high performance of our students in measures such as NAPLAN and the HSC.

HSC and NAPLAN results demonstrate outstanding growth for the students of Patrician Brothers’ College Fairfield. We congratulate our young men in Years 9 and 12 on their performance in these external assessments.

Many of our students have been listed on the HSC Distinguished Achievers list. To be included on this list a student must achieve a result of 90 or above in a specific HSC examination.

Our students also partake in the Australian Tertiary Admission Ranks (ATARs). The ATAR is a number between 0.00 and 99.95 and indicates a student’s position relative to other students. We congratulate our students on their efforts and commend them for their continued commitment to their studies.

NAPLAN data continues to show the excellent learning growth that our Year 9 students are capable of achieving. These skills carry over into the senior school where boys are able to demonstrate excellent performance across a wide variety of subjects. Each year a number of boys are included on the HSC Merit List.

Every year boys are involved in a range of academic competitions. These include the University of NSW Mathematics and English Competitions. Our boys perform incredibly well in the CSDA Debating and Public Speaking competition also. The college believes in offering boys as many opportunities to achieve their personal best across all areas of schooling.

Sport is alive and well within the college and we live by the mantra that β€œToo much sport is barely enough.” We are a founding member of the Metropolitan Catholic Schools Sports Association (MCS) which is one of the strongest Catholic Boys sporting competitions within Australia. Additionally, our students regularly participate in external sporting events and numerous NSW Combined Catholic College (NSWCCC) sports.

Many great names have graced the sporting fields for the college. With names such as Michael Wenden (Olympic Swimming Gold Medallist), Greg Alexander, Paul Langmack (Rugby League internationals); Socceroos such as Peter Sharne, Paul Okon (Captain) and Nic Carle from earlier times, to those students who have made a name for themselves in modern days the list and history continues. The college is also fortunate to have staff who are coaches within MCS, NSWCCC, NSW All Schools and Australian Schoolboys Representative teams.
